- Blood pressure is the pressure of the blood in your arteries around the whole body
- We all have blood pressure
- Your blood pressure reading has two numbers
- The higher number is when the heart pumps. Normal reading is between 110 and 140
- The lower number is when the heart rests. Normal reading is 80
- One in every 7 Irish people have high blood pressure
- If you have high blood pressure your doctor may give you tablets to bring it down
- Changing your lifestyle may also reduce it
