  • Many people return to driving after stroke
  • Discuss this with your doctor
  • Tell your insurance company that you had a stroke
  • Tell the licensing authority that you had a stroke
  • Certain things stop you driving after stroke e.g. seizures, problems with your eyes, problems with your thinking and memory
  • You might have to do an assessment of your driving
  • This assessment will decide if it is safe for you to drive
  • This assessment will tell you if you need to make changes to your car
